As you may have noticed there is now an option of where you want to search (in the bar up top). Projects will no longer be shown in map search results, and the bar defaults to whichever section you are on.
Along with this, I've gone ahead and fixed a few minor bugs (such as not properly redirecting you after you log in), and added permalinks for forum posts.
We will also be bringing back "Map Packs" for those who have been here a while. They'll be a bit different this time around though. We're going to approach it as lists, rather than archives. Want to show off your favorite RPGs of all time? This will be the place to do it.
The rough feature list for "Lists":
- Add (a lot of) maps to a list.
- Rate and comment on lists.
- Rankings (this will become a global system soon, so that rankings, like on Maps, work on every aspect of the site).
- "Fork" a list, so that you can create your own version of that list.
The other big thing I'd like to get done, is fixing up our BB Code. Right now the tool which converts it to HTML (I didn't write) is somewhat iffy. We're going to either clean it up, or switch to a better tool. This will bring things into the mainstream such as the MAP tag (which just requires the ID parameter) and some other things.
Any eta on changing the un-categorized maps list to not show melee tagged maps?
Also the rankings thing you mentioned won't change any of the already rated maps right? I was going through the melee maps again switching some to UMS that were improperly tagged as melee and rating/commenting on some good ones as I went. Ideally this will make it easier for people to find good melee maps since the really bad ones will be sorted at the bottom if they search by rating.
EDIT: Nevermind I see the rankings system would be for lists of maps to download--makes sense now.
Lists and projects will be the first two things I'll be adding full ranking too. Projects might be a bit more complicated, as I'm going to try and see how well a average rating works in the rankings. If that doesn't work we'll have separate ratings for projects as well as maps.
wat about favoriting maps with a star?

Ya, so I started building that one day, and I wrote all of it, and even put up that page (which works), then I forgot to add the Stars ;)
So its like 95% done, just needs links to add things to your favorites, and then email notifications.
Ah cool, I noticed something that seems odd, you have to actually choose which you want to comment on (project/map) or the comment wont go through. I lost all my typing twice in a row because of this =(
- Paging has been tweaked slightly (and shows all paging on forums)
- There is now a comments pane under Maps/Projects (http://www.nibbits.com/account/projects/comments/)
That's odd:
1) It should have had a default set
2) You shouldn't have lost anything either way.
I'm looking locally and can't reproduce either of those, you sure you didnt do something funny? :)
