You need to integrate a system that allows for saving, but because farms can fluctuate in position and on your current map build they are not all the same size that is a problem. I think that the best way around that would be rather than saving building locations and current inventory, you would save the total cumulative building value, animal/worker value, and item value... This allows the player to resume their farm on a new map, even if they resume with a player who had previously built in the same place as them.
This would open up exploits where people could completely change their farms or use the money from an earlier farm to buy many workers and arm them with guns to harass other players, but i don't think you can get around that anyways, as it is very possible to pk or harass even with just normal starter cash.
