GUATEMALA CITY -- Defending champion Canada completed its group play undefeated with a 6-1 victory over hosts Guatemala at the CONCACAF Under-17 Womens Championship on Sunday. Kevin Love Swingman Jersey . Canada came into the game having already booked a berth in Thursdays semifinal where it will play either U.S. or Mexico. Second-half substitute Valerie Sanderson scored three goals, while Summer Clarke added two and Jasmin Dhanda opened the scoring with a goal in the 22nd. Guatemala tied the game 1-1 in the 28th when Vivian Herera converted on a free kick with a curling effort into the high right corner. It was the first goal Canada conceded at the tournament through three games. The Canadians have outscored their opponents 16-1 in that span. "Weve had a good draw," said Canadas head coach Bryan Rosenfeld. "Weve not had the stronger of the two groups. Its created an environment where weve had to stay mentally focused and stick to the task and the objective ahead of us and not get too far ahead." Canada pressed Guatemala from the opening kickoff, and generated several clear chances early before Dhanda carried it down the right side of the goal box before hitting a left-footed drive. After Guatemala tied it in the 28th, Canada regained the lead less than three minutes later. Nichelle Prince stole the ball from a defender and made a cross to Clarke, who struck from atop the penalty spot. Like its first two games, Canada dominated possession and chances but wasted numerous scoring opportunities with shots high, wide or denied by Guatemala keeper Mariandre Rodas. Rosenfeld said the noisy home crowd had some affect on his squad, but they regained their composure in the second half. "The players can feel that energy," he said. "Theyre getting frustrated, then theyre trying to make big plays instead of being calm. And when the crowd gets on you, for young players it can become frustrating. In the end its a good learning experience. In the second half they dealt with it all that much better. The Canadians controlled the rest of the way with Sanderson, who replaced Prince in the 61st, sending a long ball out of midfield to Clarke, who touched it around Rodas at the top of the area and finished into an open net in the 64th. It was Clarkes sixth goal, giving her a share of the tournament lead with American Summer Green. Sanderson scored the last three goals -- all in the final 13 minutes. Canada will learn its semifinal opponent on Monday night when the favoured U.S. takes on Mexico. The Canadians blanked the Mexican team twice in Mexico City last December. "Its obvious the U.S. are the dominant team and with the most experience and with the overall talent," said Rosenfeld. "It would be more advantageous that we play Mexico. Weve played them before. We know each other very well. "I think that would be the preferred draw." Luke Ridnour JerseyAuthentic Minnesota Timberwolves Jersey . BEREA, Ohio -- Once practice ended on Friday, quarterback Thad Lewis was approached by Browns coach Pat Shurmur, who had great news for the third-stringer. "He said, Youre the man," Lewis said. And just like that, Lewis became Clevelands starter Sunday in the season finale at Pittsburgh, where he will take his first regular-season NFL snaps against the Steelers and their No. 1-ranked defence. "Its exciting," Lewis said. "Its a blessing for a childhood dream come true." Shoulder injuries to starter Brandon Weeden and No. 2 QB Colt McCoy will give Lewis a chance to show what he can do after almost three seasons spent on practice squads, running the scout team and finishing off exhibition games with other backups. Hes been waiting for his opportunity, and hell get it against James Harrison, Troy Polamalu and Co. -- amid a sea of Terrible Towels. Lewis never considered his first start would come against one of the leagues most feared defences. "Part of my childhood dream was to be a starter one day in the NFL. Who it was against, I didnt have a visual of that," Lewis said, smiling. "But its a challenge and if you dont like challenges then youre in the wrong sport." With Weeden and McCoy unable to practice, Lewis spent all week working with Clevelands first-team offence. Although signs pointed toward him making the start, Lewis didnt get the official word until after Fridays workout from Shurmur, who is confident the 25-year-old will perform well. "Hes been preparing himself to play all year even though he wasnt on the active roster," Shurmur said. "What we expect is that he goes out and plays winning football." Weeden finished with 3,385 yards passing, a team rookie record. He was inconsistent, but Shurmur believes the 29-year-olds best seasons are ahead. "Now that hes had a season under his belt, hell come back here in the off-season, much like a lot of quarterbacks in this league that went on to have really good careers, just pick one," he said. "They all had rookie years where they were much better in their second year. I think hes shown quite a bit this year thats good." For their last game, the Browns will also be without starting rookie running back Trent Richardson. He sprained his left ankle in the closing seconds last week in a lopsided loss at Denver. He broke almost every Browns rookie rushing record but wound up 50 yards shy of 1,000. Its a disappointing ending for Richardson, who missed all of the exhibition season following knee surgery and played most of the season with a rib cartilage injury. Browns running backs coach Gary Brown said Richardson was never at full speed. "Although he was running hard and playing well, he just didnt feel likee Trent," Brown said. Kevin Love Jersey. "God willing hes going to come back strong from the rib and the knee is strong and the city of Cleveland will see exactly what Trent Richardson is, and I believe thats going to be a top-flight running back in this league." Montario Hardesty will start for Richardson. ' '
