I'm not sure if we have a file size limit or not... or if it's an issue (bandwidth limit or no??) but I thought I would ask before I upload anything really big. I have some rpg's that are over 10 megs and one video map that is good and about 24 megs. It used to be 26 but I edited it for the guy and managed to cut off a couple megs using in-game starcraft sounds. Anyway is there a file size limit and would it be a bad idea to upload big files like what I just described?
I don't believe there is a restriction in place that would stop you from uploading those two maps.
Ok, but I mean how does the hosting work? Are we going to have the site crash if we have too many big maps on here? Or is bandwidth not really an issue? I don't complete understand the amazon like download links and if that means hosting isn't a problem or not.
Hostings not a problem -- Amazon hosts all of the downloads across their network :)
How did you get that sweet setup for hosting?
It's provided by Amazon Web Services. I basically pay monthly based on how much storage and bandwidth we use. It's pretty cheap though, a lot cheaper than it was hosting them ourselves.
Ah ok, that makes sense. Yea I imagine it would be a lot cheaper. I guess its a wide range for a certain price that we likely don't go over often per month?
They actually bill you precisely based on how much you use. The more you use, the cheaper it gets per-GB or whatever, but it's good priced.
Well, I think there is a limit to what they will upload--I tried twice and failed to upload a 24 meg movie map: The Jim Raynor Movie 2.
I got two different error pages and another time it appeared to just time out on me.
Here is the last error I got:

This leads me to believe that it failed uploading completely the first time and now is trying to unsuccessfully re-direct me to the failed upload page.

Still got that error trying to upload that one map again, I guess it needs to be deleted in its partially uploaded form first. Or maybe I can just post it somewhere and you can mess with uploading cramer? It's a pretty cool movie map with great music scores.
I'll check into it ASAP. Been extremely busy with work + school :)

Anyone now of to upload a map preview? i upload a map but dunno how to upload the preview >-<
Right now there's no way to do it manually. If it doesn't have a preview it means some protection schema (most likely) is interfering and we were unable to generate one.
