So after much discussion here from the SC users, I've decided to take the site in a [very slightly] different direction.
Community Updates
-----------------
- The community will be able to edit, in a wiki-like fashion, parts of the site. This will require the edit to be approved by the community before it were to go live.
- Areas would include things like author name, description, and tags.
- Reporting methods will be added to each map, project, and post. Reports will include things like inappropriate content, spam, as well as a "based on content" flag (possibly).
- A possible increase in the tag limit.
Changes to Forums
-----------------
- Markdown is now available.
- Gravatar support has been added.
- Registered users have had limits increased, and can now edit/delete their own posts.
- Spam filter has been tweaked slightly again. Seems to be getting rid of a lot of the stupid posting though.
- Some forums are now shared across multiple games. Currently these are Off-topic and Website.
StarCraft Maps
--------------
- New image generation is coming which also draws units on the map.
- Better parsing (fix for some map names etc.).
- A flag for UMS or Melee (automatically parsed).
Known Issues
------------
- Some maps are not appearing in search results.
New forum categories are now available sitewide :)
The new "Map Style" flag is now live on StarCraft maps. Map styles are currently "Melee" and "UMS". You can now view them on the main page under popular and new maps as little tabs. There is also a new filter under Find Maps.
Made some changes to the "Latest Comments" box on the main page.
Right now it's showing map and forum posts, and I will slowly be moving the Maps Home into a generic Home, which will give the best of all worlds.
does the avatar work for map comments?

Initial stages of wiki-like edits are live.
While you guys begin piling up the changes, I will work on the voting schema and what not for it :)
Question:
Is the author field linked to Nibbits account? (i.e. if I stick "azala" in the author field, would it recognize author as being my username?)
If not, then I would recommend adding that functionality if possible.
Related note:
Once that's been implemented, I'd eventually like to be able to click on a Nibbits account name and find all maps authored by that user.
Oh, and I just noticed:
1) I should be able to manually enter in author, title, players etc. etc. fields at the upload page. Automatic parser should fill in those fields that aren't specified.
2) Why is the forum not interpreting the return character correctly? Below should be "Thanks, <newline> - azala"

It's markdown.. it depends on how you use the character. Most likely it's because of the - but I"m not sure.
I'll look into a way to have it link usernames to map authors.
There's a slight bug with map_style it seems on pending changes. The flag is called "is_melee", but I'm going to rename it (for future changes). Just wanted to make everyone aware.
I will hopefully have time this weekend to push live a simple voting mechanism. My plan is that it needs at least 5 votes from unique users (we'll be watching to make sure they're unique), and the vote approval rating must be 90%.
What that means, is that if its 5 votes all saying "this is acceptable" it will pass immediately. However, if there are 4 votes saying it's good, and one saying it's bad, it will take several more votes in order to get it passed.
Added some initial support for user titles. Once authors can be linked to usernames, these will also include additional titles.
I have a suggestion as to the map packs. Currently there's a maximum limit of 20 maps per pack, but I have made like 23 maps, so I couldn't put them all in a single pack, but I don't wanna go make another pack with like 3 maps in it, it seems kinda pointless. Also I'm still making more maps and can't edit the pack, I'd have to make yet another. I think it would be good if you increased the map pack size to 30 or so and also allowed for editing of them.
The suggested changes for map packs sound great. I'll try to get these in asap.
