Starcraft Hockey at it's finest. Each player gets to pick a forward and a defender (expect for top player on each team who gets Goalie as their Defender). Player 1 gets to set the number of goals and/or time limit the game is to be played too. The game then begins with a faceoff!
When a player has control of the puck (shown as a interceptor or scarab if in-flight) they can pass to other teammates, to the center of the map or try to take a shot on goal. Shots on goal can be blocked by moving in front of the puck while it is on its way to target. Bigger players can also take away the puck from smaller players. Checking is allowed and useful at taking out an opponent for five seconds. After each goal players must indicate they are ready for the next face-off. When being passed the puck is a scarab and when it arrives in a player's hand it is an interceptor.
While there is a lot to this map it isn't too complicated for a new player to pick up easily.
I don't think Starcraft Hockey can get much better than this! Pick a Forward and a Defender and use teamwork, passing the puck amongst your teammates and taking shots at goals. Check those annoying defenders or forwards at just the right time to open up your shots on goal. Each time someone scores a faceoff awaits.
It can be a little confusing but the basic concepts are easily picked up and this map is tons of fun! It would be, I suspect, pretty widely played if Hockey were a more popular sport among starcraft players.
One thing that can suck though is waiting for all players to pick their guys at the start as your stuck waiting so if someone goes afk kinda a pain.
