Welcome to the world of Salthris, a small planet caught in the darkest ravages of demonic attacks. A parallel realm intersects Salthris and once in a while demons are able to cross over through a portal known as the Nightmare gate.
Fortunately Wizards from all over the land have gathered with the intention of defeating the demons. Unfortunately, these wizards are also bitter enemies and will destroy each other just as readily as the demon threat.
You play the role of a wizard. You begin very weak, but can gain extra spells like an RPG. You can get up to five levels of mastery in any school of spells. You start with 2 levels of training which you can assign to any of these arts. Remember you can achieve a max of 5 levels of training in any of the arts.
To cast a spell move your selector at the top on the beacon of the spell path from which you wish to cast a spell (NOTE you MUST have at least one magic point in that area) then click your dropship (Which you should hotkey) and unload the level of spell you want to cast. Provided you have enough gas and the proper abilities to cast the spell it will be cast. Check your mission objectives for information on spells for a path once you step on its beacon (F10 J).
Brief Overview of the Schools of Magic:
CONJURATION: creating non-living matter from thin air. This power can create defensive structures and later things like barracks and even minerals.
SUMMONING: Creating living things and machines out of thin air. Very useful for building an army.
DESTRUCTION: What Conjuration creates, destruction destroys. Destruction is the art of siege warfare and the general taking down of structures.
DIVINATION: The art of obtaining knowledge, divination is a powerful magical art. Its masters are able to see far distances and still be in relative safety.
NECROMANCY: The art of animating the dead and study of death, necromancy is the antithesis of life magic and destroys living things quite easily.
PARADOX: An odd art, Paradox is like an anti-magic. Its effects are unlike other magical effects and thus it is a mystery to all but the masters of its powerful effects.
LIFE: The arts of healing and restoration of life, Life is the natural enemy of necromancy and has a few spells to destroy the undead.
DEMON PATH: Not really a magical art per se, however the demonic path offer the quickest way to power, if one is willing to pay the prices the demons demand.

Lol, I remember modifying this map back in the day adding in the dropship casting among other things--was so much better than the old method of moving to many beacons at once.
