    That means you've got triggers in the map. A trigger action like "End scenario in victory/defeat" causes that.

    Yep. The positive is that you don't have to do anything super-complicated like writing an AI.

    What *exactly* do you want to have happen at every stage of the game? Starting cash? Defeat Conditions? Victory conditions?

    Doesn't work. Most triggers rely on map-specific variables, like a trigger condition "bring 2 marines to Location 2".
