A large central river divides the map and wooded areas are sprinkled throughout for an interesting battle field. One thing I strived for was a variety in the landscape and different base arrangements for each player. I like that its interesting to play multiple times.
I grew up with two brothers so naturally there had to be at least 3 "main bases" on one side making it possible for all of us to play together as allies. Each player gets two other areas for alternate bases, one of them being accessible only by flying units. There is also one stray base in the center of the map on an island. It's exciting trying to hold this location as the island is large enough to accommodate anti-air defenses. I made it so that there is only one central entrance to each main base which definitely makes this a fun fight as defenses will be heavy.
I made this map when I was 17 back in 2008. Although I enjoyed creating maps, it was the first and only one I had ever uploaded. Its name was inspired by the poem "Over the River and Through the Wood."
