A map I made a couple days ago. I tried to balance things by removing advanced speed on ultralisks (Cats), but I also removed mouse holes that made all the other versions cheap. Anyway this Cats & Mice map isn't your ordinary one. For one thing Cats use mana (minerals) and Mice use cheese (gas) and Mice can now have 6 players. But because of the addition of the 6th player I had to remove the units that were next to the buying section. Instead, I used psi emitters to display information to tell the player what it is. Cats have 4 cool spells, and 3 units to buy and Mice have 7 units to buy, 1 escape spell to use, 1 unit to make and 1 secret unit that is strong. People criticize this map because it isn't fair for either side. Likw they complained about the scv not building things. I responded saying, then the scv could keep repairing and repairing and repairing and... so that was settled. The trick to being Mouse is to build lots of pylons (Crystal Core) to act as temporary mouse holes to let you through while obstructing Cats. Then slowly work a base and get some scvs (Hamster). Soon, if you held off long enough, then you can build extraordinary things. The only limit is the Supply Meter shown at left of screen. My advice to the cat is: at start when attacking the walls, attack the wall your friend is attacking. That way you'll be able to get out faster and I've won several games like this :) And as the Cat, don't give up the fight. Don't forget your spells and units that help you win the battle. You have spells that: reduce hp to 50%, stop the resource flow temporarily, heal your cat at low hp levels, and even unallying the Mice so you can get chaos! And your units can help too: Defense Matrix for Cat. Emp for shields (works great against Thunder Lizard), Broodings for scvs, tanks, zealots, and such, ensnare for running away Mice, and finally disruption web for stopping those annoying photon cannons. Cats if you die, don't worry you get an extra life just in case :) And as final warning, do not go beyond the geysers both Cats and Mice. If you do, well lets just say it aint pretty.
