I was thinking about Warcraft II's map where a big ocean was in the middle...the starting positions are thin, and there's some expansion spots all over and in the middle of the ocean. Look for the money map version, Big Game Fishermen.

Plenty of resources to expand and fight over on this map even though it is normal resources. Expansions are very close by for everyone and easily had. Be ready for an attack from either direction.

Good map, though with a full house you are pretty close to your neighbor and the action comes quickly. Works great for big FFA"s, I just won an 8 player ffa on it in which my homeland was ravaged (lost 4 bases) and I had to retreat to the islands and restart. I managed to take four islands and take the game in the end.
