--- Begin Briefing ---
Welcome, commander, to the capture the flag exercise. Rules are as follows:
1) There is a flag guarded by four sunken colonies at the center of the map. The idea is to get the flag on to your beacon.
2) When you place the flag on your beacon, it must remain there for 1:30.
3) After you do this, you will score a point.
4) If the flag is moved off your beacon, the timer will stop, and reset when you put it back on your beacon.
5) When anyone scores a point, the field resets and a new round begins.
6) If the flag carrier is killed, the flag is dropped right there. If the flag is in a dropship and it is destroyed, the flag goes back to wherever it was when it entered the dropship.
Please note that you start with all the resources you need, and all units build 10x faster than normal. In the event your base is destroyed, you will be given observers so you can watch the rest of the round.
The first commander to score three points wins. Good luck!
--- End Briefing ---
First off, I know there's a normal CTF mode with Starcraft, but I don't like it because it seems redundant to me (Instead of kill your enemy, it's kill your enemy, then take his flag). So I tried to come up with something better.
In this version, the flag is in the middle of a small map. Run out, grab it, and drop it on your beacon. Easier said than done though, since all players can see the area around the flag at all times and they'll come after you when it's on your beacon.
Also, since the field is reset after every round, if you get your butt kicked it's only for one round and everyone starts again on equal footing at the next round. Building a base every round isn't a big deal since all the buildings build very quickly.
Unit build times relative to each other are the same, so most normal SC tactical rules still apply, you just have to be fast :).
Anyway, download it. This map is pretty fun and unlike my other major UMS map (Civilian Madness), it doesn't take long at all the get the hang of.

Good map, but you should use less Y, X and XY ScmDraft II, that looks good on space maps, you can have future problems putting ramps etc. 4 / 5
Do not forget to start as rookies, over time we become advanced, and then less than what we imagine we are already experts.
Keep it up! Your friend Andirest
