1) Starcraft 2 2) Pretty much everything/anything to do with mapping/modding/melee strategy. :P 3) I love Nibbits as it is a unique community, and want to see the SC2 mapping scene go for. Oh, and I and hate trolls. 4) I moderated a couple of forums, as well as created my own (malprogramming.net [forum is currently down]) 5) I'm primarily interested in moderation, as editorials are not my thing. Also keeping the maps/replays clean. 6) EST
Starcraft 2 and Warcraft 3 are the games. The bigges thing that interests me is what I've talked to you about previously, the fact that the webadmin actually listens, and has created a very nice new age community website as well as creating what I think is the best database of blizzard maps.
I would make not only a good community leader but afantastic one, I am passionate about game modding and have a passion for others views, concerns, and opinions. I am a psych major so peoples mental and emotional wellbeing are important to me, and I have a natural charismatic gift due to my great drive towards success and making sure people are heard and treated correctly.
I am a moderator as well as admin and owner of clan orpg, a clan that has been around for four years and has had over 7,000 unique registered users over it's lifetime, it is also the second most referred in/out community link on nibbits. I have also been spokesperson, leader, and raid leader for a few mmo guilds, all of which were ranked within the top 3 on their respective servers.
I am most interested in moderation, occasional editorial work as we see nibbits grow, and map development, a good position I could represent would be something like "senior map liason" in which I could communicate with you/ and any future web administrators, if there were more, about how we could turn nibbits not only into the forerunner map database, but also the epitome of a developer oriented community, driven by the community, and giving map developers the chance to reach that large audience but to also be heard and appreciated by the community at large.
I'm in pacific standard time, which I think is gmt-8, but you lived in sanfran so you know what I'm talkin about :p
1) Starcraft & Starcraft 2 2) Being a moderator sounds awesome; I think nibbits has an invaluable niche in allowing ppl to find fun maps to play. Too often I'm afraid to try out new games b/c it might suck & I'd be wasting my time. nibbits gets rid of all that. 3) i have a strong sense of fairness & civility. just as i can't tolerate a rigged map & i try to ensure my maps are balanced, i won't be discriminating or promoting favoritism. i don't like smart ass admins in some forums who dont know much other than how to be rude & insult & ignore ppl except those who r subservient. i would set good standards of conduct b/c im old enough & not too obsessed that i'll try cheating the system (aka instead of editing and adding onto a post, posting twice to get more pts, etc.)
4) i'm interested in moderation in forums. im not sure wat editorial means. i already have a blog i need to keep up with, so i probably wont have time to write reviews
1. Warcraft 3. Right now, I really don't care about Starcraft 2, but I am sure that once it is released, I will be hooked.
2.I really like the setup on this site, I get lost very easily on other sites similar to this. Also, this site has a ton of maps, and generally a nice, helpful community. Also this site seems to be full of map makers, so instead of only giving advice, I can get direct comments/advice back from map makers.
3. I think that I would be a great leader, because of my activeness on this site (I am usually on at least twice an hour when I am not sleeping/in school), and my helpfulness. I have tested a handful of maps, so I have become good at catching things that people missed, and giving good suggestions. Also, I have great dedication, and try to do things from start to finish (like the review I did on YouTD. I was going to go to sleep about 3 quarters of the way in, but just couldn't fall asleep without finishing it.). I am friendly too, unless I am just having a really crummy day.
4. Sadly, none that would be of any use.
5. Both modding and editorials sound great, but if I can only choose one, I would go with moderation. =)
6. Mountain time (Colorado), which is GMT-7 I believe.
Nibbits is looking for a few individuals with the right attitude to help grow our community.
If you think you've got what it takes, please include the following information:
If you'd rather not have this information available to the public, you can email your application to dcramer@gmail.com
This is completely a voluntary position (at least for the time being), so please also keep this in mind.
